About moov
Is a moov report a replacement for a survey?
No. A moov report is what you do before you commission a survey. It flags what's worth investigating from available public data, so you can decide where a full building survey is genuinely worth paying for. It's a pre-offer check, not a structural assessment, and the two complement each other.
Where does your data come from?
moov draws on public, open, licensed, third-party and modelled data. That includes official sources like HM Land Registry, the Environment Agency, British Geological Survey, Ordnance Survey, Police.uk, Ofcom and local authority planning records, alongside some third-party datasets. Sources and dates are shown so you can see what informed each section.
Who is moov for?
Home buyers in England & Wales who want a clearer picture of a property before they offer, especially first-time buyers without a surveyor or solicitor in the family.
Using moov
How fast will I get my report?
Most reports are ready in minutes. Most data is pulled when you run the report; some official datasets, like air quality and coverage maps, are refreshed periodically rather than in real time. Every section shows its source and date.
What if data is missing for a property?
We tell you. Where we can't confidently assess something, the report says the data is missing or unavailable rather than filling the gap. Missing data doesn't mean there's no issue.
How accurate is the data?
It's only as good as the underlying public sources, which vary in coverage, recency and precision. Some data is area-level or modelled rather than property-specific, and the report flags that. It's designed to help you ask better questions, not to give definitive answers.
Pricing & ordering
What does it cost?
A full report is £29.99, paid per property. There is also a free quick check for a top-line look. No subscription, and no account needed.
Can I get a refund?
If a report fails to generate, is materially incomplete because of a technical fault on our side, or is supplied for the wrong property due to our error, we'll put it right with a corrected report or a refund. Where third-party data is simply unavailable and the report shows this, that isn't a fault. This doesn't affect your statutory rights.
Can I share the report with my solicitor?
Yes. A report includes a PDF you can forward to your solicitor, surveyor or mortgage broker, and the 'questions to ask' are written to raise directly. Reports are licensed for your own personal use, so please don't resell or redistribute them.
Privacy & other
Do you store my searches?
We keep a record of the reports we generate so we can support you, handle any disputes and meet our legal obligations. Our privacy notice sets out what we hold and for how long.
Do you cover commercial property or homes outside England & Wales?
Not yet. moov covers residential properties in England & Wales with a registered address. Commercial property, and addresses in Scotland, Northern Ireland or outside the UK, are not supported at launch.
